Been A Busy Season, (without much riding)

It has been a busy season this year.  I taught a lot of bike saftety and maintenance classes in April and May for Transpocycle and the Sacramento Bicycle Kitchen.  I went for a 6 day trip with my friends from the Small Craft Cruising Club in my Drascombe Sailboat out on the Sacramento River Delta.  I then had 4 weeks staffing various Adventure Cycling (ACA) trips up and down the west coast.  This is in addition to a two week spring trip through the soutwest with Kris.  I took the new travel bike along.  In the mornings I would ride while she painted plein aire, and then in the afternoons we would go exploring together.  Oak Creek Canyon, Sedona, Monument Valley, Bryce, Zion, and up through Nevada on the Extratrarestrial Highway to get home.

Next season my be a bit different.  Minimal if no classes in April and May because Kris wants to take a long trip outside the country.  Staffing on only one ACA trip which will be in late August.  Hopefully this will lead to some more riding and a longer self containced bicycle trip.  August 15th through the 23rd of 2014 I will be staffing a loop trip out of Eugene Oregon.  I plan on taking the train up and then riding home.  Perhaps down the coast like I have done before, or east to Bend and then follow the Sierra Cascades route.  (Note to self....loose lots of weight and train hard for that one.)  Anyone interested in coming along???

I am going to try and stay a bit more active on this web site and news feed, post a lot more photos, and perhaps try to start up some sort of local touring MeetUp group.  Stay tuned.
